Inspired by the Final Fantasy VII remake, this handmade Chocobo has been crafted and tamed over many weeks and stands at a glorious 20cm tall.
The Chocobo is made from wool which is sculpted over a wire frame using needle-felting techniques. This construction process allows the Chocobo to be gently posed.
The legs and beak are created from apoxie-sculpt clay and brought to life with acrylic paint.
Although life-like, it's best to keep the real food and liquids away from your Chocobo to ensure a long and happy life!
I love new creative challenges, whether through 3D sculpture, drawing, painting or in an adventurous after-school art class.
I work in various mediums but enjoy the textural quality achieved when using fibres to create life-like sculptures and images.
My work is greatly influenced by my love of wildlife and occasionally my brother's love of all things gaming!
The great experience of the craft-along 2019 and seeing Niv-Mizzet raise money for a charity close to my heart has encouraged me to enter again in 2020.
