This recreation of the banyan worn in Our Flag Means Death is made of velvet lined with soft silk noil in a matching fuchsia. Over 12 hours of hand stitching went into finishing the banyan after several hours of machine sewing. The weight of the velvet is an excellent compromise between a snuggie and a weighted blanket for decadent brooding.
This was made with big and tall measurements to fit most, but it can also be used as home decor. Special thanks to actors Josephine Moshiri Elwood and Nael Nacer for modeling. You can see how beautiful it will be on you whether you are small, tall, or literally a wall. Of course it can also be taken to your local tailor to be hemmed just for you. Another alternative fit option for wheelchair users would be to have a tailor convert it into a shrug and matching lap blanket.
It shouldn't require very much cleaning at all if worn over other clothes, and (as a professional launderer of costumes) I would recommend washing as little as possible. If absolutely necessary I would wash it by hand with a little bit of castille soap, roll it in a towel to remove excess water, and lay it flat to dry.
