| Silent Auction Description | This is a Sapele (wood species) puzzle box. I wanted to branch out into other types of woodworking and this was an interesting challenge. I tested this box with a puzzle novice and it took them about 30 minutes of fiddling with it to solve so I would rate this at a little lower than average difficulty to solve but no slouch either. It is completely hand crafted by myself. I had to use different wood finishes than I'm used to since I needed to seal the wood and make it pretty, but also not glue the moving pieces to one another. All in all, I think I ended up with a beautiful piece to display on a shelf that you can still take down to show a guest or present a surprise gift that you want someone to have to work for a little bit. I'm not including solving instructions, so be prepared to puzzle it out. I will include contact info though in case you need some tips. I'll put that inside the puzzle. Dimensions: Exterior: 128mm cubed interior compartment: 68mm x 90mm x 57mm Pro tip: if you completely disassemble it you may want to keep track of the parts and their orientation unless you want to bump this up from medium to hard mode. |
