DB16 Prize Archive - Silent Auction: Handpainted DB Shift-Themed Gunpla
This is the start of the VST Prize archive for DB2022 / DB16, DO NOT expect it to be updated regularly!
At DB 2021, Ian was asked to assign mobile suits from the Gundam franchise to each shift. He chose the Master Gundam for Dawnguard, the Zeong for Alpha Flight, the Gyan for Nightwatch, and the ZZ (Double Zeta) for Zeta Shift. (Please direct any opinions about mobile suit choice to 2021 Ian)
Those were then purchased in gunpla form (gunpla meaning GUNdam PLAstic model kits), had some minor touch-ups applied, and handpainted in their respective shift colors.
Each kits comes with some accessories included in the original box. The Master Gundam includes extra hands (sorry no horse or full cloak). The Zeong includes a stand (because it has no legs upon which to stand). The Gyan comes with a shield and beam rapier (as befitting its elegant owner). The ZZ comes with a beam cannon and 2 beam saber parts (and an extra hand for use with the beam saber hilts in the backpack).
Out of the box, some assembly required. Instructions included.
Fun fact: the Gyan was bought pre-owned and came missing its left hip joint. A replacement hip joint piece was built from scratch to replace it.
